The Europa-Rad is one of the premium rides at Europe’s fairgrounds. At 55 meters high, it is the world’s largest transportable Ferris wheel with open and rotating gondolas.
The entrance area of the ride was redesigned with our LED products in fall 2012. They give the Ferris wheel a unique, modern and high-quality ambience.
The special thing about this project: the aluminum profiles for this installation were powder-coated, fitted and cast within just 14 days.
It was only possible to equip the Ferris wheel with particularly robust components. This is because the materials have to withstand many mechanical influences due to the frequent assembly and disassembly. In addition, the LED lights are exposed to wind, sun, rain and cold.
A total of 236 of our B50-500 S LED strips and 429 of our B50-250 S LED strips were installed. Power and data are supplied via 36 Big Intellis and six System Power Supplies 4E.
They are controlled via E:cue-Butler.
