Drupa 2016 kicked off in Düsseldorf on May 31. With more than 1,800 exhibitors from 50 countries, it is the largest print trade fair in the world. The trade fair focuses on products and services, from prepress and media, offset, digital and hybrid printing to the entire processing process.
Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG (Heidelberg) and its partners presented innovations for the digitized and industrially positioned print shop under the motto “Simply Smart” at a stand that spanned the entire Hall 1.
The hall was spanned by a ceiling construction made of profiles with video-playable LED strips.
The profiles are a special construction and were requested from Schnick-Schnack-Systems by Production Resource Group AG specifically for Heidelberger's trade fair stand.
Schnick-Schnack-Systems quickly developed the 6m long profiles (black/matt) with matching head pieces, profile connectors and slot nuts. Three LED strips can be mounted next to each other in a profile using PCB holders (slide-in version).
In total, more than 2 km of C25-250 MK2 LED strips were installed in 167 profiles. The power supply was provided by over 80 System Power Supplies 4E. They were controlled using several pixel gates.
