IAA Commercial Vehicles 2018

Mercedes-Benz exhibition stand

From 20 to 27 September, the world's leading trade fair for commercial vehicles, IAA Commercial Vehicles, opened its doors in Hanover for the 67th time and showed visitors from all over the world the latest trends in transport, logistics and mobility. More than 2100 exhibitors from around 50 countries presented themselves and their products on more than 280,000 square metres of exhibition space.

In 2018, the IAA Commercial Vehicles was all about digitalisation and networking, automated driving, electric mobility and urban logistics. "Driving tomorrow" was the theme of almost all the major manufacturers showcasing production-ready vans, city buses and medium-duty trucks with electric or other alternative drive systems.

Also the Stuttgart-based car manufacturer Mercedes-Benz illustrated the future of commercial vehicles with its broad product range in Hanover. In addition to numerous exhibits from vans and trucks, Mercedes-Benz also presented two Unimog and two Econic. The focus was particularly on the comprehensive assistance systems and vehicle features, which ensure greater safety in commercial vehicle applications, as well as the efficient drive variants, which at the same time protect both the budget and the environment.

Optical highlights of the stand were the approx. 4 × 4m rectangles on the walls, which were played synchronously with the video surfaces. These surfaces were backlit with LED-Tiles C50 from Schnick-Schnack-Systems. In addition, parts of the exhibition stand were set in scene by LED strips of the series C in connection with the profile system 18.
