In 2018, the IAA Commercial Vehicles was all about digitalization, connectivity, automated driving, electromobility and urban logistics. Under the motto “Driving tomorrow”, almost all major manufacturers showcased production-ready vans, city buses and medium-duty trucks with electric or other alternative drive systems.
The Stuttgart-based car manufacturer Mercedes-Benz also illustrated the future of commercial vehicles in Hanover with its wide range of products. In addition to numerous exhibits from the vans and trucks segments, Mercedes-Benz also presented two Unimogs and two Econics. The focus here was on the extensive assistance systems and vehicle features that ensure greater safety in commercial vehicle use, as well as the efficient drive variants that are also easy on the budget and the environment.

A visual highlight of the trade fair stand were the approx. 4 × 4 m rectangles on the walls, which were synchronized with the video screens. These surfaces were backlit with C50 LED tiles from Schnick-Schnack-Systems. In addition, parts of the exhibition stand were staged using C series LED strips in conjunction with profile system 18.
