SPS IPC Drives kicked off in Nuremberg on November 22. With around 1,600 exhibitors, it is Europe's largest automation trade fair. The trade fair focuses on control technology, electric drive technology, industrial software and sensor technology. One focus this year is Industry 4.0, i.e. the intelligent networking of machines and production processes.
In Hall 11, Siemens presented integrated applications under the motto “Driving the Digital Enterprise”, with which customers can optimize production systems and manufacturing processes over the entire life cycle of their products and plants.
The centerpiece of the stand is a 400m² special area - the MindSphere Lounge. Here, Siemens and its two partner companies Atos IT Solutions and Evosoft demonstrated initial applications on the powerful Mindsphere cloud platform. Visitors were also able to find out how easy it is to connect machines and production systems to these IoT applications with the help of Totally Integrated Automation.
The MindSphere Lounge is covered with a backlit film. Around 4,000 L12-500 LED strips and 1,600 LED Intelligences from Schnick-Schnack-Systems were installed here. Power and data are supplied via 4E system power supplies. The installation is controlled by a GrandMA2 via Grandwing.
