SPS IPC Drives 2016

On 22nd November the SPS IPC Drives started in Nürnberg. With more than 1,600 exhibitors it is Europe's largest automation fair. The focus of the exhibition are control technology, electric drive technology, industrial software and sensors. One of the focal points in this year is the so-called Industry 4.0, the intelligent networking of machines and production processes.

According to the motto "Driving the Digital Enterprise" Siemens presented in Hall 11 integrated applications that help customers to optimize production systems and production processes over the entire life cycle of their products and systems.

The heart of the stand is a 400m² special space - the MindSphere Lounge. Here, Siemens and the two partner companies Atos IT Solutions and Evosoft showed first applications on the powerful cloud platform Mindsphere. In addition visitors could learn how simple machines and production systems can be linked to these IoT applications using Totally Integrated Automation.

The MindSphere Lounge is covered with a back-lit transparency. About 4,000 LED-Strips L12 and 1,600 LED-Intelligences of Schnick-Schnack-Systems were here installed. The power and data are supplied via System Power Supplies 4E. The installation is controlled via GrandMA2 by Grandwing.
